If you are like me and could spend an entire Saturday at a park people watching, reading a book, journaling, or simply sunbathing, let me help you out. Here is a list of my favorite parks in Lisbon.
- Principe Real garden
- It’s Saturday morning, the city’s waking up as the sun peeks through your window. Head directly to the garden for a slow morning. Some days there’s a small artisan market around the park, as well as a live band next to the kiosk. Stop by for an espresso and a relaxing morning.
- Jardim da Cerca da Graça
- The most immaculate vibes in Lisbon are found here. Happy dogs frolick, friend’s drink and snack, others are reading, some are napping, someone else is doing yoga. Whatever you fancy, this is the park to bring a blanket and stay for hours.
- The kiosk does sell a few things but it’s better to bring your own.
- Guerra Junqueiro Garden
- Another fan favorite, this is an oasis surrounded by a cozy neighborhood. Walk around or stay for a while.
- Park of Necessidades
- A place for solitary reflection. Each visit, I was absolutely alone. Massive geese parked around the grassy corners. Peacocks walk around like El Jefe. Just beautiful.
- TimeOut Market
- The market may be overrated but how can a park be overrated? Grab a snack at the market or a coffee at the kiosk, expect to always be surrounded by people here. A great place for a quick break, an easy pick for a coffee date, or an outdoor pregame spot before you head to happy hour.
Hope you find haven in one of these.
